Mount Maunganui January 2012

In January we spent the last week of the boys summer holiday at Mount Maunganui on the beach. Beautiful area with great surfing, boogie boarding and sailing (or BloKarting). There are also some great views from the top of "The Mount." In fact in the distance you can just barely make out The Rena that ran aground a few months ago.

New Zealand Christmas

For Christmas we went to Matarangi on the Coromandel Peninsula on the northern part of the North Island. Michele's sister Alicia has a beach house there and Michele's folks flew in for the holidays. Lots of relaxing, biking, boogie boarding and kayaking. We had the traditional Kiwi barbecue for Christmas. Still can't get used to Christmas in the middle of the summer...
